My dad Jack Brown grew up in the cottage next to the site in London, with his 15 brothers and sisters, his mum used to run the works canteen.

My dad was a Foreman age 26 working there eventually starting his own engineering company .

The Goldman family who owned the company thought the world of my dad and his family and remembered him being a poor kid who made good.

I remember going to visit my nan near the works in that cottage they grew up in.

I have a photo frame made by the Leytool company presented to my dad with a photo of him as a young kid with my grandad and the Goldman Family and a post card sent to them when he was in the Navy at war

Hi, Simon here, I have been trying to find this company for years -my late father worked in this factory during the war - I always wanted to know if the factory was contributing directly to the war effort ( I know most people were in different walks of life) But this Was a tool making factory - was it connected to the aircraft in any way?…….thanks……Simon.

I served a toolmaker apprentaship and afterwards at leytool 1941-1948 -- known Alf Goodman (boss) Bill Bodington Annold Kaufman Gladys Goldman Stan Jones Harry Wright

my father was a toolmaker there during the war especialy during the blitz,would like to know more about that time there

Fascinating to see something on this company. I recently found my Brother in Law's apprenticeship papers with this company 1954 -1959

Nice to see the adverts for the Jig and Tool. My grandmother, great uncle and mother's godmother and husband worked for the company in Leytonstone during WWII!
