i worked in the Strand Bakery ,Brixham harbour, Devon .. in 1959/1960/61 ,, and Procea was white ..
My dad Ernie Ellison and
Uncle Ted Ellison made Procea bread in their bakery on the Parade, Bourne End, Bucks for sale in their two shops in the village and at the top end of Marlow high street during the fifties through to earLy nineteen seventies prior to their retirement. I have 6 tins which are used to make small bread loaves and cakes. at home.
Procea was a light weight white loaf for its size principally because it was proved longer for added aeration.
Long live the remaining few family bakers.
Always asked my Grandmother for a buttered Procea crust when coming home from school in the 50's but the loaf was definitely white from memory.
Hi
Nice to see an advert for procea bread - I have 10 original procea bread tins bought when the bakery in Lyme Regis in Dorset closed down many years ago. Just found them again and cleaned them up to use so is the 1st time I have looked for procea bread on the internet
